Welcome to Leiden! Whatever your background, if you are international or internationally minded, and want to really feel at home in Leiden, this is the site for you! It's a wonderful city, and a fantastic place to raise children. There is a lot going on, and tons of activities for children and adults alike, as well as some wonderful cultural resources and some excellent restaurants and bars. However, it can be hard to appreciate it all when the walls are closing in and you've just sung the wheels on the bus for the 40 th time to a grumpy toddler, or are struggling with the 20 th nappy of the day from a demanding newborn. I'm a mum of two who has lived here for nearly 8 years, and this website aims to bring people together, integrate the international community into the Dutch community, and to keep up to date as a central, English-language source of information on all things related to pregnancy, birth and raising children in Leiden.
