Since starting research for this article I have found that at least one alternative exists to the normal local clinic. The only type I am currently aware of is the anthroposophical (anthroposofische ) clinics which follow that philosophy; on www.kinderspreekuur.nl you can find out more about these. The one in Leiden is on the Schelpenkade, and you can find out more (in Dutch)
at www.de-lemniscaat.nl .

The anthroposophical approach to infant care and wellbeing reflects their general philosophy, and their approach to the normal vaccination schedule is correspondingly not always in line with the government's guidelines. Please note that these doctors do not necessarily recommend skipping vaccinations: their point is that they take a more nuanced viewpoint than the regular clinics with regard to possible delayed immunisation, for example.
