RAINED OFF ...?

rain1.jpgrain2.jpgrain3.jpg

Oh dear, oh dear ... 'Good for the garden' is the mantra I've been repeating to myself over the last couple of weeks, since returning from my holiday in not-as-sunny-as-usual France where even there we had some rain. We certainly have got our money's worth out of our Museumkaarten (www.museumkaart.nl) this summer! I hope that you have enjoyed your time here or your holiday away, and are now refreshed and full of energy to face the busier roads, newly-full trains (although it's still summer timetables until the end of August, irritatingly!) and the New School Year ...

For information to those of you without school-age children: primary schools (up to age twelve) start on Monday 15th in this region, and secondary schools have a gentler start about a week later. So the next homepage is going to be about all that is available for young children in this area, and as the HiL editorial team is madly busy this weekend locating errant lunchboxes and hoping that the gym shoes will still fit, this is by way of a stop-gap homepage. But it does give me the opportunity to say:

HELP!!

We will shortly be updating our sections about schools, childcare and what's available for children locally, but these can change so fast as staff move on and places open/close that we rely on your input for anything more than the bare facts. Please - to all our readers: if your children are at school, attend a peuterspeelzaal , go to a childminder's, have djembé lessons: anything: TELL US ABOUT IT! The usual address: welcome@homeinleiden.nl , and any and all information, however brief, will be gratefully received. Thank you in advance.

And finally

THANK YOU JESSICA!

Having expertly steered the site since the start of the year while submitting grant applications and generally managing her own career, not to mention having her house rebuilt/extended around her, Jessica is taking a step back and I'm taking the helm again for a while. Thank you Jessica for your wonderful homepages! Feedback to jessica@homeinleiden.nl.
